Dr. Schroder received her Ph.D. in Economics from SUNY, Stony Brook. She has worked in the areas of economics and financial education, medical economics, and housing at corporate, non-profit, and academic institutions. Most of her career has been in higher education including more than 25 years at Nassau Community College. At NCC, she served as Chair of the Department of Economics & Finance, Director of the Nassau Center for Economic Education, and acting Vice-President for Academic Affairs.
Among her awards are the SUNY Chancellor’s Award for Teaching Excellence, NCC Professor Emeritus, and the Council for Economic Education’s Master Teacher designation. Dr. Schroder serves her community as Chair of her credit union’s Supervisory Committee and volunteers with as a Therapy Dog Team with Maisy, her Labrador Retriever.
Dr. Schroder specializes in K – 12th grade technology and web-based learning and has presented her work at local, state, and national conferences. She conducts workshops for teachers in schools throughout Long Island, New York City, and New Jersey. She strives to help educators bring practical and creative methods to their classrooms and believes this results in more sustainable and equitable economic and financial outcomes for the entire community.
